Welcome back to 2025!

After wrapping up 2024 , we wanted to welcome you back to 2025, and let you in on all the excitement we have coming up this year!

What did we get up to?

Over the holidays and new year break, our team took some time off to spend with loved ones, explore new travel destinations and pick up new hobbies. Let’s hear from some of them on what they got up to over the break, as well as their resolutions for the new year.

Farzana – Bangladesh

This holiday was truly something else! I traveled back to my homeland, Bangladesh, with a heart full of excitement and nostalgia. The purpose was simple: to relive my cherished childhood memories, this time with my parents and my son. What I brought back from this trip? Memories that are absolutely unforgettable!

Taking my son to the village was a dream come true. The simplicity of life there is unmatched. We indulged in:
🎣 Fishing – Yes, we caught a fish too!
🚴‍♀️ Rides of all kinds – From boats and rickshaws to TukTuks (the iconic three-wheelers) and even manually operated Ferris wheels. Every ride was an adventure of its own!
🎡 Tried so many carnival rides, all manually operated, adding to the unique charm.

And what’s the first thing you do when you visit your homeland? For me, it’s always about indulging in my favorite street foods. Here’s what I devoured: Fuchka (bursting with flavors!), Velpuri, Various types of Vortas (mashed delights), Jhalmuri (spicy puffed rice goodness). Every bite took me down memory lane. And trust me, it was so yummm!

This trip wasn’t just about reliving memories; I also decided to pamper myself—a LOT! 💅I spent an entire day at the salon, treating myself to every possible beauty service. And yes, I might have overdone it a bit (and my wallet agrees). But hey, don’t get scared by looking at my saloon pics!—it’s just a face pack, nothing else!

This extraordinary trip gave me clarity for 2025: 🌟 Spread positivity and learn new things. Life is short, and every moment is worth cherishing!

New years resolution: Embrace challenges and deepen connections with those who truly matter

William – USA

Over the holidays, I went on a family trip to the US with my mum, dad, and sister to visit family, friends, and experience an American Christmas—and wow, they really go all out! We spent our time skiing, baking Christmas cookies, cruising through Long Beach canals to see dazzling holiday lights, and visiting Universal Studios to explore Nintendo World (a dream for a Nintendo fan like me). Christmas dinner was festive, and I even managed to catch the Boxing Day Test on my friend’s cable TV. Back home, I jumped straight into a New Year’s trip to the Central Coast with friends. One day was a mix of sophistication and silliness—we started with a winery visit, enjoying fine wines and feeling quite refined, but by the afternoon, we were at a gas station inflating a giant donut, determined to ride it in the surf. The waves promptly dumped us, and bluebottles sealed the deal, but it was all part of the adventure!

New years resolution: “To beat Andy at ping pong”

Jasmyn – Vietnam

I went on a spontaneous solo trip to Vietnam (and by ‘spontaneous,’ I mean planned a whole week ahead — the classic definition of ‘last minute’ for an ENTJ) with 14 hours layover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and 6 hours in Xiamen, China (so it seems like to everyone I’ve been travel all over Asia lol)✈️ Wish I had 8 stomachs for all the incredible food, fresh fruit, and drinks!! Vietnam was so good that I now have a withdrawal reaction from my daily Vietnamese coffee intake :)☕️

New years resolution: “To make more money and travel”

Moon – Perth, Australia

This year for Christmas, I took a vacation to Perth, and got to experience an ‘Aussie Christmas’ for the first time. I enjoyed the true Aussie summer, with consistently warm weather (~25-40 degrees), much warmer than what I’m used to in Melbourne. Some of my fondest memories were decorating the Christmas tree with my trinkets, and watching everyone take turns unwrapping presents from under the Christmas tree. For Christmas lunch, I enjoyed yummy seafood and croquettes for starters, roast ham and chicken with homemade potato salad, and tried pavlova for the first time!

New years resolution: “To read at least 5 books”
